Adopted culture fail

Happy belated St. Patty's day, friends!

I was reminded on Friday that I have married into Irish-ness (my new last name is VERY Irish), so this Saturday should have been, you know, culturally important? Thing is, since we spent the windy and rainy weekend at the cabin (photos coming soon), celebrating my new "adopted" culture was the last thing on our minds. However, in hindsight, we kind of celebrated a little bit:
  • We had beer.... Which I suppose could have been dyed green had I thought of it.
  • We made vegetable chowder (with potatoes, does that count as irish?).
  • The landscape: Green oak trees hanging with spanish moss, rolling grassy hills dotted with cows. That reminds me of.. Ireland?
It looked kinda like this... via Trip Originator
  • We were completely vegetarian this weekend (not by choice; we just forgot to buy meat and you have to bring in all your own food to the cabin so... we went without). And the first thing I think of when I think of vegetarian-ness, is green...?
Okay, so I fail.

Happy non-St. Patrick's Day!

    1. Aren't they? I've always wanted to go to Ireland but it just hasn't happened yet. Hopefully soon, now that I've got a "reason"! And I love that movie, I still cry every time I see it :)
